Flue Gas Extraction from Hardening and Tempering Furnaces

Technologies Used and Construction Design

The installation of extraction hoods above furnace outlets ensures effective capture of flue gases directly at the source. The hoods are made of materials resistant to high temperatures and aggressive components found in the flue gas.

For flue gas transport, high-temperature extraction fans are used, designed for continuous operation at temperatures of up to 300 °C.

The ducting system leads through insulated roof penetrations to the outside. These penetrations are thermally insulated to prevent heat transfer to the roof structure, avoiding overheating or damage.

With respect to the hall's operational requirements, the piping system is designed with removable sections, allowing overhead cranes to pass through without interfering with production.

Intelligent Performance Control

The extraction performance is controlled via a frequency inverter, which automatically adjusts fan speed to the current demand of each furnace. This ensures:
