Implementation of a cylindrical silo for storage of polymer additives

Our company has implemented a project for the production and installation of a cylindrical silo for storing polymer additives. This silo is equipped with a G&G SILOVIB filtration unit, which ensures efficient regeneration via mechanical vibration.

Project objective and technological solution

The main task was to design, manufacture, and implement a storage and dosing system for polymer additives into further technological processes. The heart of the system is a cylindrical silo equipped with a filtration unit for venting the pneumatic transport. Material dosing from the silo is handled by a screw conveyor, a weighing hopper, and low-pressure fan transport. The entire system was custom-designed and manufactured according to the investor's needs, with all components supplied by G&G filtration. The general contracting of the construction was provided by our partner company, G&G filtration CZ.

Cylindrical silos for bulk material storage

G&G filtration units and our custom-made cylindrical silos are the ideal solution for storing bulk materials such as sawdust, wood shavings, or wood chips. These silos are commonly used in wood processing plants to store fuel for boiler rooms, material for briquetting lines, or as bins for waste dispatch.

Main features and applications of cylindrical silos

• Screw discharge system in the lower conical part of the hopper with a rotary feeder seal for material outlet.

• Pneumatic transport for filling the silo, equipped with a filtration unit located on the silo roof.

• For wood chip transport, a cyclone separator can be used, also located on the silo roof.

• Explosion relief membranes for storing explosive dusts ensure safe and efficient storage of materials prone to explosion.

Customization and implementation options

The production of a cylindrical silo is always adapted to the specific requirements of the investor. Silos can be supplied with a supporting steel structure that allows truck drive-through. Standardly, silos are placed on a concrete foundation and connect to the material transport system for boiler rooms, briquette plants, or further processing.
